Therapy Services – Speech-Language Pathology
Medicaid reimburses for speech-language pathology services that include:
- Evaluations
- Treatment
This service is one of the minimum covered services for all Managed Medical Assistance, Long-Term Care and Comprehensive Long-Term Care plans serving Medicaid enrollees.
Eligibility
All Medicaid recipients who are 18 years of age or older and who are in a Long-Term Care or Comprehensive Long-Term Care plan may receive speech-language pathology services.
All Medicaid recipients who are 20 years of age or younger and not in a long-term care plan may receive speech-language pathology services in accordance with the coverage and limitations policy. Recipients 21 years of age and older may receive limited speech-language pathology services pertaining to provision of augmentative and alternative communication systems.
