Hospice Services
Florida Medicaid hospice services provide palliative care to terminally ill recipients.
Hospice providers must meet the requirements to participate in Medicaid and be able to provide the following:
- Hospice care provided by the designated hospice.
- Direct care services of a hospice physician.
- Nursing facility room and board.
This service is one of the minimum covered services for all Managed Medical Assistance, Long-Term Care and Comprehensive Long-Term Care plans serving Medicaid enrollees.
Eligibility
All Florida Medicaid recipients requiring medically necessary hospice services who meet the following criteria may receive hospice services:
- Certified as terminally ill in accordance with 42 CFR 418.22
- Elected hospice in accordance with 42 CFR 418.24
