Florida Medicaid’s Covered Services and HCBS Waivers

Hospice Services

Florida Medicaid hospice services provide palliative care to terminally ill recipients. 

Hospice providers must meet the requirements to participate in Medicaid and be able to provide the following:

  • Hospice care provided by the designated hospice.
  • Direct care services of a hospice physician.
  • Nursing facility room and board.

This service is one of the minimum covered services for all Managed Medical Assistance, Long-Term Care and Comprehensive Long-Term Care plans serving Medicaid enrollees.

Eligibility

All Florida Medicaid recipients requiring medically necessary hospice services who meet the following criteria may receive hospice services:

  • Certified as terminally ill in accordance with 42 CFR 418.22
  • Elected hospice in accordance with 42 CFR 418.24
