The Florida Center for Health Information and Transparency (Florida Center) is responsible for collecting, compiling, analyzing and disseminating health related data for the purpose of developing public policy and promoting the transparency of consumer health care information through FloridaHealthFinder.gov.
The Florida Center administers the Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program, provides governance of the Florida Health Information Exchange (Florida HIE) as well as research and analytic support to the Agency.
The Florida Center is also responsible for collecting patient safety culture reports from hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.
Data Collection and Quality Assurance
The Office of Data Collection & Quality Assurance (DCQA) is responsible for collecting patient discharge data from all licensed acute care, psychiatric, and comprehensive rehabilitation hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, emergency departments, cardiac catheterization laboratories and lithotripsy centers on a quarterly basis. Data Dissemination and Transparency
The Office of Data Dissemination and Transparency processes patient data requests and provides technical assistance, administers the FloridaHealthFinder.gov website including training webinars with community outreach.
Health Information Exchange and Policy Analysis
The Office of Health Information Exchange and Policy Analysis provides governance of the Florida Health information Exchange, oversees the Emergency Patient Look-Up System program, Patient Safety Culture Survey System, and Florida ePrescribing Clearinghouse, and coordinates the State Consumer Health Information and Policy Advisory Council as well as ad hoc workgroups.
