Dialysis Services
Dialysis treatment includes all supervision and management of the dialysis treatment routine, durable and disposable medical supplies, equipment, laboratory tests, support services, parenteral drugs, applicable drug categories (including substitutions), and all necessary training and monitoring for recipients receiving peritoneal dialysis treatment.
This service is one of the minimum covered services for all Managed Medical Assistance plans serving Medicaid enrollees.
Eligibility
All Medicaid recipients may receive medically necessary dialysis services.

End Stage Renal Disease and Peritoneal Dialysis Information
The Agency for Health Care Administration, in partnership with the Florida Renal Association (FRA), offered a webinar to the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care plans on 11/18/2022 to meet the requirements of the language of Specific Appropriation 208, 2022, “From the funds in Specific Appropriation 208, the Agency for Health Care Administration shall work with dialysis providers, managed care organizations, and physicians to ensure that all Medicaid patients with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) are educated and assessed by their physician and dialysis provider to determine their suitability for peritoneal dialysis (PD) as a modality choice. Further, the agency shall consult with the dialysis community concerning suitable voluntary reporting to the state Medicaid program on members’ PD suitability.”
