Florida Medicaid’s Covered Services and HCBS Waivers
Therapy Services – Occupational
Medicaid reimburses for occupational therapy services that include:
- Castings and strappings
- Evaluations
- Treatment
This service is one of the minimum covered services for all Managed Medical Assistance, Long-Term Care and Comprehensive Long-Term Care plans serving Medicaid enrollees.
Eligibility
All Medicaid recipients who are 18 years of age or older who are in a Long-Term Care or Comprehensive Long-Term Care plan may receive occupational therapy.
All Medicaid recipients who are 20 years of age or younger and not in a long-term care plan may receive occupational therapy services in accordance with the coverage and limitations policy. Recipients 21 years of age and older may receive limited services pertaining to wheelchair evaluations and fittings.
