Specialized Therapeutic Foster Care Services
Medicaid reimburses for specialized therapeutic foster care services to enable a recipient to manage and to work toward resolution of emotional, behavioral, or psychiatric problems in a highly supportive, individualized, and flexible home setting.
Medicaid specialized therapeutic foster care services are intensive treatment services provided to recipients under the age of 21 years with emotional disturbances who reside in a state licensed foster home.
This is one of the minimum covered services for all Managed Medical Assistance plans serving Medicaid enrollees.
Eligibility
Florida Medicaid recipients requiring medically necessary specialized therapeutic foster care services who meet the following criteria:
- Under the age of 21 years
