Outpatient Hospital Services
Medicaid reimburses for outpatient hospital services that are preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitative or palliative items or services furnished by or under the direction of a physician or dentist.
Medicaid reimburses licensed, Medicaid-participating hospitals for outpatient services. Outpatient hospital services include:
- Emergency or observation services
- Laboratory tests
- Medical supplies
- Drugs and biologicals used by physicians or hospital personnel in treatment
- Radiology services
- Services in an outpatient clinic, including same-day surgery, and therapy services
This service is one of the minimum covered services for all Managed Medical Assistance plans serving Medicaid enrollees.
Eligibility
Florida Medicaid recipients requiring medically necessary outpatient hospital services.
