Prescribed Drug Services
Florida Medicaid reimburses providers of prescribed outpatient drugs:
- Most prescription drugs used in outpatient settings and some injectable drugs (some included in the Preferred Drug List, others through prior authorization process.)
- Some over-the-counter medications with a valid prescription.
This service is part of the minimum covered services for all Managed Medical Assistance plans serving Florida Medicaid enrollees.
Eligibility
All Florida Medicaid recipients may receive medically necessary prescribed drug services.

The Florida Medicaid Prescribed Drug Services handbook, coverage policies, and fee schedules are available on the Florida Medicaid Web Portal. Select "Provider Services”, then under "Provider Support" select “Provider Handbooks”, or “Provider Fee Schedules”.
